Powerhouse PH8.29 - MPE/iX

Hi Nicholas,

The documentation that you have received on CD-ROM, PowerHouse Books 1.2, is
the current version for both 8.19 and 8.29. This is also the version you
would receive in printed form if you ordered the optional printed
documentation set.

The only differences between 8.19 and 8.29 are that the latter also supports
new syntax for the creation of PowerHouse Web applications, and is built and
tested on MPE/iX 6.0 (while 8.19 is built and tested on MPE/iX 5.5 Express
4). Since all of the new syntax is specifically web-related it is currently
documented in the PowerHouse Web Guide, which is distributed with the
PowerHouse Web product...or can be downloaded from the Cognos web site, at
http://www.cognos.com/powerhouse/download.html.

The next version of the PowerHouse Books is currently in development,
covering OpenVMS-specific and Windows NT/2000-specific discussions,
web-specific syntax, etc., and will be available with the PowerHouse 4GL 8.3
versions later this year or early next (depending on platform).

Hi Listers,

We are planning to upgrade our Powerhouse PH7.29 to PH8.29 (MPE/iX).

We have received the upgrade software. However, the manual (CD ROM) came
with
the upgrade was only for PH8.19. According to our technical services
department's colleagues; this is the CDROM that we are going to get for the
upgrade.

Is there anyone out there has upgraded to PH8.29 (MPE/iX)? What version of
manual (PH8.29 or PH8.19) you have got on CDROM or printed copy? Any
experience
that you can share e.g. any minefields that we have to be aware of etc?

Any help will be very much appreciated.
