Anybody using the Wedge?

Hi John,

yes, you may be right about the 8.19. But due to some lack of testing
resources (Y2K et al) the introduction had to be postponed. On the other
hand we have become quite familiar with 7.09 and its bugs^^^^err-features
and are running a very stable application on it. Let's see what 8.19 will
give us...

Kind regards
Andreas

I'm sure you'll hear from Bob Deskin, the Cognos y2k guy (although by now
he'd probably like to drop the moniker) that 7.09 was never certified y2k
compliant. It will probably work fine from Jan 1 through Feb 28, screw up on
Feb 29 and then be one day off for the rest of the year. Next year should be
OK though :-) Seems to be a fundamental disagreement between PH and MPE.

But what's wrong with 8.19? We've found it a fairly good release - but
that's a fairly relative term! And 7.09 would NOT be my first choice for an
older version - it reintroduced many of the 6.09 problems that got fixed in
6.19. Maybe we should work on getting your 8.19 to work!
