Richard starts the ball rolling with his vote of thanks....
And pushes the guilt button here at NHA....
We would also like to express thanks to all those within Cognos, and within
the PowerHouse community, for all the hard work that went into the Language
and Tools (Power2000) to enable us to help our customers through y2k without
any problems (so far).
I guess we haven't thanked anyone publicly because we considered the
community as part of the solution team - but thanks is due.
Many of the programming staff at our clients have expressed their thanks to
us for making the y2k rollover a non-event, but it is interesting that only
one "financial" manager has offered any thanks, and that was accompanied by
dark accusations of IT conspiracy to extort y2k money - amazing.
I hear that the lawyers who had budgeted on a bumper year dealing with the
forecasted y2k feeding frenzy are now advising their clients to sue IT
companies for creating hype and extortion.........;)
Regards to all, and compliments of the season to everyone.
May this year be the one where IT seizes back the control it once had.
Long Live PowerHouse!
Regards
Neil

Thank You to all the folks here on the listserver for all the suggestions
and solutions having to do with Y2K and PowerHouse.
In my case we have apparenlty come through clean - with only
two typos discovered - before the 2000 rollover.
Certainly your comments here have aided many people
and represent the best of what unselfish internet information
sharing is all about.
A special thanks to Bob Deskin for leading the charge in his
arena to get modifications to the software and distribute information
that made it more reasonable, more do-able, for many of us!!
I did not celebrate on New Years eve, but will catch up with the
celebrating later. When I do I will have a glass of wine and
a silent toast to you.
Thank You
Richard A. Kessler, Jr.
