February 29th or March 1st?

PowerHouse 7.10E6 is NOT certified as Year 2000 compliant and never has
been. The issue encountered is what we found (and I reported to this list).
With a default century of 19, Feb 29, 2000 is returned as March 1. This
continues up to Dec 31, which is reported as an invalid date. This issue was
corrected in PowerHouse 7.10F2. Changing the default century to 20 is a
potential workaround however it depends on what your application requires.
If you have any century excluded (6 digit) dates, use caution when changing
the default century because PowerHouse adds the default century to any
century excluded dates in date function processing.

Greetings all,

We are running 7.10.E6 on Vax & Alpha. This may be a bit of advance warning
for you guys the other side of the pond. We are getting variable results
from SYSDATE this morning. Thankfully, live applications all give correct
results, but the answer seems to depend on which dictionary we point at -
some development dictionaries give 1st March. 

Confusingly, copies of the same dictionary in different directories dating
back to last year give different results. We are OK, but treading
cautiously. If anyone else comes across this & can shed more light, we would
like to hear. Oh, and all Cognos staff, yes, we did see the note about
compliance & we decided against trying to upgrade our 8000+ programs on the
basis of what was reported.
