Running PH from Cobol

     Mikael,

I have worked some time on a program or two that calls a COBOL program
in our XL from a QUICK screen. It is a subscreen that is called at the
field level. I had considerable trouble with the extra parameters that
need to be used. It works great once I got the linkage section
correct. And, yes, as the other person said, the data in the buffer
space stays just as you left it for the next call from Qdesign. I
believe you can also compile the COBOL program so that it clears the
buffer space as well. Cognos did caution me not to use DISPLAY's to
the screen if Qdesign is in control. They worked fine for me for
debugging, but Cognos said that it could potentially mess with the
     quick program displays.

Let me know if you would like a sample of either program. I have a
couple that are fairly short and simple.

     Mary Cotton

Hi

We are running PH 8.19C3 on HP3000 and I would like to know if anybody hav tried
running a Qdesign screen from a Cobol online program and also passing parameters
between the screens?
