I gather both machines are ALPHA's?
Otherwise Alpha machine needs QDESIGNA710G, Vax needs QDESIGN710G
>i have a symbol QD == "$PH_LOCATION:QDESIGNA710G PROCLOC=S_LOC:"
>S_LOC is a logical name that points to a directory on machine two and

>for ex. qd auto=sys$login:myfile qdesign always search on machine two
Where does SYS$LOGIN point to? If your screen calls any subscreens S_LOC
will be where Phouse will look.
>i can never use a file
>on machine one, i don't understand why.
Clustered?
Not that it matters with the following but make sure that the NODE:: is
specified in your S_LOC logical
eg DEFINE/SYSTEM S_LOC NODE::DISK:[S_LOC]
You'll need appropriate security set-up to do this
either node will find the files in the same location
