I know because the Romans didn't have the number zero.  Sorry for the slip up Mr. Byrne.  It is still the 20th century and the 2nd millennium until Jan 1., 2001.

This is still the 20th century.  The last year of it in fact.  I 
would venture than no one on this list was around at the end of the
