Seconded.
Why should we have to put up with badly ported Unix freeware as part of a
premium product like Powerhouse ?
We have only experienced this problem once or twice, so are not running on demo
keys here (65 PH users).

DECnet Phase 5 has been around a long time now, & phase 4 is effectively
obsolete. Yet Cognos effectively locks us in to phase 4.
I've never seen anything else use Flexlm, and don't particularly want to.
Given Flexlm's apparent Unix origins, it can't be that hard to provide an
option to use an IP stack. Now THAT would provide consistency across all
platforms. Not that that's a request: VMS has a reliable production quality
licence mechanism of its own, and it seems highly eccentric to use unreliable
freeware instead.
