Are your output fields 13 characters wide (ie 8 data + 5 spaces)
OR 8 characters wide (ie 3 characters + 5 spaces )
If they are 8 I think your problem is the default behaviour where the full
size of char fields is reported. The only workaround there is to define an
item "just" wide enough for your widest data and report that.
If they are 13 it is possibly due to a column heading that is longer tha 8
chars - try "set nohead"
