Hi All :)
Well George Wen got it on the nose ... :) see his insight below Thanks
to all of you.... I should have mentioned that I had already tried the run
with fully qualified field references for the Trans dataset...
So, I am back to trying it with linking to Trans on the ACCESS
statement... which keeps blowing up with a message saying "File: QTPSCR"
followed by the message "Action Taken: Run terminated." ....
hmmm... I am trying runnign the job again with a file equation building
the QTPSCR file larger.... but not too large...
Anyone got any ideas on this one?

George's Answer:
While the fields in question are in the TRANS file they're not in the file
in your access statement and therefore you can't use them in the IF part
of your code. You may reference the TRANS fields for output purposes
such as ITEM statements. Maybe you can link to the file and then do an
output with alias.
