TZSET and Sydney2000 Time Zone

Hello everyone,

I think we got bit by the non-standard Sydney2000 timezone last night.

We have a job that gets auto-streamed (HP3000) by another job and
gets a date parameter from the system's SYSDATE variable.

We reset our system clocks, as everyone in Victoria and New South Wales,
etc. (Australian eastern states) did at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, 27 August,
to GMT -11 (EST here is GMT -10). BUT, I didn't touch the TZSET file in
CURRENT
group of COGNOS account.

The job launched itself somewhat earlier than normal (not in itself a bad
thing, of course) ..... at 12:55 a.m. And it resolved SYSDATE as the previous
day. NOT a good thing.

Can someone remind me how PowerHouse uses the TZ file and SYSDATE
vs hardware clock? Should I have changed the TZSET file to reflect
GMT-11? It gets read by the standard SETPOWERHOUSE UDC.

Many thanks,
Ron Burnett
