Mystery record?

John's advice is good. I've been there many times:)
PowerHouse is generally so consistent on MPE/iX that I'd suspect something
else.

First, follow John's file equation theory. Break Quiz before it exits, and
listeq. I once found a file equation hard coded into the PowerHouse command
files, set at the start and reset at the end - someone's idea of
testing.....

Change your rep statement to rep all and look for differences.
If you have Suprtool, open the same database that control is supposed to be
in, and get control, l, x
If you have mpex, try a %listf <database with control>, db

There MUST be a reason for this strangeness.

But above all, please let us know when you do find the reason.

Regards

Neil

Are you sure that Quiz is opening the same base as Query? Query has the
advantage of requiring you to enter the actual base name and group. Quiz
uses what the dictionary says and obeys file equates. So, are you using the
correct dictionary? What does the dictionary definition of "control" specify
as the base name for the database and the open name for the record? Are
there any file equates pointing off perhaps to some molested test version?
Does Qtp give the same results (change the report statement to a subfile
statement) ?
