Not yet, I have tried all the easy things suggested.  Now I can start trying some of the more difficult things.  It is rather a slow time for my user, so it may take her a few days for the screen to fail, for me to find out if what I tried worked.  Nothing has stopped the screen from being erased yet.  It takes me a few days to find time to work on it again between fixes also.  So the progress is slow.

I will give a full report when finished of what didn't work and what did - if anything works.
