Folks:
Just to update and to respond to various suggestions from you.
Interesting to note that two other people have noticed the same thing.
Misery loves company...?
The compiled QUIZ program is a single pass program, so it consists of
ACCESS* LINK TO M-STORES, DEFINE this that and the next thing, REPORT,
BUILD. I believe the subfile to be in fine shape because we can read it
with an ad-hoc QUIZ program.
Both the QTP and QUIZ program are run from the MPE/iX CI, not from
within Qedit or MPEX.
I tested Brent Gillan's thought about the QUIZ program expecting zero
records since it was compiled against a zero record subfile. So I wrote
a QTP program to make a subfile, and a QUIZ program to report on it. I
compiled both of them. Then I purged all temp files and any permanent
file matching the subfile name. Execute the compiled QTP program, I get
the temp subfile with several records. Fine. Run the compiled QUIZ
program, and it works. Back to the drawing board.
I do have a support call into Cognos on this.
I'll keep you posted. If anyone has other ideas or suggestions, I'd
love to hear them.
