Since you have never reset the "create subfile" flag Quiz will continue in
every subsequent pass to attempt to build a subfile. This is one of the
nastier aspects of inheritance (see - Quiz was object oriented before it was
fashionable :-) of the defaults.

I hate people who never use "set default". Even more I hate people who allow
quizwork to get created - it is so easily avoided by simply giving the
subfile a name as Anthony did in the second pass. And even more, I hate
permanent subfiles - Quiz will not write over an existing permanent subfile
(e.g. your vg401k) if the record length is different.

There now, I feel better. Anthony can fix his problem by adding "set
default" or a "set nosubfile" to the final pass.
