As discussed, there are various techniques to force the subscreen to run.
The bottom line is that it would be nice to have a feature to make subscreen
calls REQUIRED (and there are enhancement requests for it). However, keep in
mind what the user is saying when they enter a //. They are saying that they
are finished entering data on this screen and to take them back to the
action field. That was the original intent of the //. With more complex
screens and systems, we now have two requirements. One is to get the user
out, because if the user can't get out, they'll just kill the session. The
other is to guide/force the user through a series of screens and prompts.

Here we get into application and transaction design. Strictly speaking, in
order to ensure transaction integrity, all required information should be
entered at one time. In QUICK, you can't force the user to enter anything.
They can always get out. So you need to ensure that the transaction is
either complete or can be rolled back. This is the same when you want to
force a subscreen call. Ask yourself what would happen if the user did not
get into the subscreen. Would the transaction be complete or would it have
to be rolled back.
