Select vs Choose

I guess it would depend on the frequency of reports based on that view.
That is certainly a viable option, but generally, I find programmers are not
necessarily allowed to create views in the database. 
If the same tables are being joined for several reports, sure, make the
view. :-)

Instead of creating cursors in the source code, wouldn't it be more
feasible to create a database view ?
If multiple programs had cursors coded in them, and a change was
required, wouldn't the maintenance be easier if all you had to do was
change 1 view ?
