819C4, Allbase and F.E. 1379..

There is an error we found in the 819C4 version of Powerhouse in
combination with Allbase. When you run an executable program you get
this error. If you go into one of the products and try to ACCESS any
Allbase file you get the same error. If you go into QSHOW you will get a
F.E. 809 (I believe. It's in the 800's anyway). If you go into PDL you
will get a message stating that there is no default dictionary-even
though there is one.

It seems that the previous version of Powerhouse let you access the
database even if you didn't have DBA authority to the database. The
819C4 version does not. To get around all the above problems simply go
into ISQL and GRANT DBA authority to the user in question (we had some
users with this authority and others without).

Hope that heads off problems for someone. It was a b... er, uh.. a drag
to track this one down. This information might be available through
Cognos. I called in the problem but they hadn't heard of it yet (I guess
1379 is a pretty standard Fatal Error). I did call and leave a message
once I figured it out, but it depends on how good the phone specialist
was in entering data.
