Running Quick from Select

Suspend functionality was removed from Quick in version 6.x.
Partial functionality was left in Quiz and Qtp and where it remains an
undocumented but valid program parameter.
In version 5.x, PowerHouse would perform an "auto-activation" of a suspended
process on the next call to the suspended program. It no longer does that.
Be aware that if SUSPEND is used when calling Quiz or Qtp from Quick:
1) those programs will be suspended upon exit to parent.
2) memory and files accessed by those programs are held open after exit to
parent.
3) next call to them from parent creates another sub-process - no
re-activation of suspended processes.

The SUSPEND program parameter was removed from all documentation as of
version 7.x.

SELECT certainly is able to hold suspended processes, if they were invoked
with the ";HOLD" keyword. But the suspended program needs to be "suspend
aware". In other words, it needs to know to "wake" its parent process when
suspending. I did a few tests (appending "suspend" to the run parameters)
but couldn't get Quick to show up in my process tree after exiting, so
suspect that this feature has been removed from Quick. It certainly still
works fine for Qdesign, Quiz and QTP.

Any definitive answers from Cognos?
