Date value in AS400

If the date is actually a century included date, then version 6.07F on
AS/400 has the INPUT CENTURY option. This allows you to specify which
century a date gets based on the year.

I have a screen that allow users to enter a date (datefield, century
included, but display as 'YYMMDD') to select some data from the gl-history.
Since the default century is 19, so the date value will be adjusted as
19xxxxxx.
How can I adjust the date value to 19xxxxxx or 20xxxxxxx appropiately in
order to select the correct data.
I have try  process, edit or input procedure, but cannnot work.
