Here's another vote for the retention of POW in the v8 code-stream.

We've been using Powerhouse on VMS since 1987 (was it v4 back then?). 
Now that most of our various systems are 'mature' the use of PDL has
almost disappeared at our site.  We're maintaining dictionaries with
350+ files/tables and many thousands of elements & items and have not
had a problem over the years.  We're also keeping synchronized various
remote sites with their own dictionaries etc. etc.  The only time we
resort to using PDL is to 'move' a file/table from one dictionary to
another.

It seems a very backward step to forgo the usefullness of 'POW' and
return to the days of script-based dictionary maintenance using PDL.

Let's hope Cognos listens to some of the voices out there, calling for
the reintroduction of POW into v8.
