Kevin, I don't believe you were mistaken... 8.10 was originally intended to
include more VMS specific features... for a whole lot of reasons that didn't
turn out to be the case to the degree that would provide a direct upgrade
path. Also - that is my understanding, not a company policy statement - I
don't get to make them, more's the pity. (On the other hand - I'm not sure
I'd want that responsibility either!)
I can say that at this time the future direction of 7.10 and 8.x on VMS is
being discussed and determined. I do not know what the final resolution
will be.
As to Architect - on VMS, I don't believe that it includes the dictionary
maintenance portion that it included on MPE and UNIX on 7.x. Architect on
VMS is mostly used for documentation and application analysis.
