It's me-e-e again.
First for Roger M - We're located in the megalopolis called Amarillo, =
TX. For those of you unfamiliar with this great state, we are about 20 =
miles north of Palo Duro Canyon. For the Yankees, we're 280 miles north =
of Dallas in the Texas Panhandle.
Actually, Creative Computing has been very helpful. Brian was able to =
get results in three weeks that I had failed to get in three months. =
Our relationship is quite good as he is as much a victim of what has =
happened as we are. When we initially started talking, he thought we =
had Axiant installed and just needed help getting started. We thought =
he was supposed to handle the whole Fast Start package. Once we got =
that ironed out, got on the same page as it were, matters progressed =
smoothly. He's been juggling schedules to keep someone available to us =
provided we can get out dictionary problem solved.
As to that, the only version of Cognos we have is 5.09 on an HP 3000 =
using MPE/iX. No matter what we do, we have to upgrade since our system =
was installed with the QDDR dictionary instead of Cognos' QDD. That =
upgrade is on the way. Once it's installed, Brian and his people should =
be able to talk us through the conversion. After that, we expect =
someone here to start the Fast Start package.
Thanks for the offer of help. I print your e-mail so we can check for =
the kind of problems you had.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------=
-------------------------------------------------------------------->
Next to Brian with CCI - Don't worry; be happy. There is nothing to =
improve. As far as Cognos is concerned, all will be forgiven once we =
get back to work.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------=
-------------------------------------------------------------------->
Finally, a shorty for John P - The first part of the note says where =
we're at. The second part of your message is interesting. I write =
historical fiction concentrating, at the moment, on the Red River War of =
1874. Currently, I've finished one book on the start of the war with =
the Battle of Adobe Walls in June, 1874. Now I'm writing about Nelson =
Miles' campaign against the Comanche and Kiowa from August through =
December 1874. I'm glad you enjoy my style. I hope that Kensington =
Press agrees with you. If not, there are other publishers.
Thank you all for your attention,
