Hi,
a client of mine decided not to make use of Power2000 - for diffent
reasons - and buildt it's approach to Y2K revision on the fact, that you
can icentify all date-related items and dependencies starting with the
permanent items in the dictionary. If you include "sysdate" in this
collection and scan all sources for occurrencies of every item (MPEX)
and keep on doing so with every redefinition and temporary item, you end
up with a complete list of issues (item names and sources) to be
revised.
I am aware, that this approach is only practicable in a very well kept
(and / or small) environment, t.ex. no missing sources, one dict per
application, strict naming conventions, etc, but it seemed to work.
Regards
Elisabeth
