Via va Viaindex

Thanks to Alison for that good explanation, which I have just forwarded to
one of our (ex-)developers who queried why I had complained about his using
VIAINDEX in a suite of programs he had developed. For those of you who are
interested and have not looked it up, the QDESIGN manual says:

"Use VIA instead of VIAINDEX with relational tables. By explicitly
referencing an index with the VIAINDEX option, it becomes harder to
change the database definitions. If the index is deleted, then the
source code must be modified. If VIA is used instead, the index can
be deleted and the screen continues to work properly."

- which tells at least part of the story.

What surprises me is that there is still (I believe) no equivalent syntax to
ORDERED/ORDERBY in Quiz/QTP and it is much harder to avoid the use of
VIAINDEX or unnecessary SORTs. As I have never formally requested it as an
enhancement I suppose I should not complain, but why hasn't everyone else?!
