Old and Venerable Salts:
This is a true opening (2 of them) at my company:

Data Warehouse Architects responsible for system and
database Infrastructure. Must help develop a blueprint
for use of an ODS (highly Normalized) used to feed a 
Transactional DW (an ingredients-like database with
scrubbed data at atomic level granularity), which is
further used to produce an integrated DW (ROLAP and
denormalized, partial recipe calculation's exist
here). The Integrated DW will be used as the basis for
extraction to Datamart's, which may be viewed as
Cube's in Powerplay, or may feed MDDB's to support
other DSS tools, which could vary from Hyperion to
Oracle OFA.  The Integrated DW may also be wired for
OLAP to support WebI w/ Business Objects and possibly
DSS MicroStrategy, and other Web enabled tools.  The
long-term support strategy supports this smorgaborg of
choices. 

You will study and understand hardware and software
platforms working closely with technicians from
legacy, network, database areas, and others as needed.

The candidate will also have Reasonable Data
Warehousing experience or industry equivalent
intellectual capital.  Experience with tools and
methods to perform extract and transform processing
and to populate the Data Warehouse is essential.
Knowledge of network infrastructures. Experience
with a major relational database (Oracle 8 or Rdb (7.3
knowledge is insufficient), possibly Sybase and
Informix if experience includes parallelism, DB2 or
Teradata acceptable. Operating Systems savvy across
many platforms will be helpful and will increase your
profile.  

A thinking DBA with solid SQL skills is highly
favored, provided the candidate possesses the skill
set to be creative in designs that are highly flexible
and performance oriented. You must be a truly flexible
and patient person, as the development process will be
done properly, often taking as much practical time to
enact a design as is necessary.  Quick, get it done
types, are not sought.  Practical, model as you go,
and try it as you go, types are encouraged to apply.  
DBA's with vendetta mentality will be culled from the
pack during the probationary period.  All candidates
will be proved on all listed skill levels and will be
assesed for non-harmful, productive political savvy.
