Cognos coversion from mainframe to PC

A good explanation. While at GM I helped clarify a
6000 user license. Named users are not billed.
Concurrent user license values are billable and Oracle
charged GM on that basis.
The other problem we faced was a geographic licensing
issue. GM wanted to move some US licenses to the UK.
This would require a bump in the per license pricing
to include global price licensing.
Well, it was like watching two scorpions negotiate
over a dying frog. Backroom handshakes, pissed of
project managers, happy salesmen and a clueless
purchasing agent, added up to a good business deal in
Warren, MI. We'll call it a success and I am happy to
say that I helped!
