Problem with Date(days()) functions

Bite the bullet and convert the data and the programs to 8 digit dates.   
Sometimes it looks like more work but in the end I've found that the work   
is about the same but the results are so much cleaner. The reduced cost   
of future maintenance will probably offset the cost of converting the   
data.
