Subject: Migrating from HP/iX to HP/UX

Hi,

I am migrating an application (with existing 8 digit dates)
from HP3000 PowerHouse 7.09 for MPE/iX and KSAM
to HP9000 PowerHouse 8.13 for HP/UX and Oracle.

I have received and installed the PowerHouse software, but am still
waiting for a complete set of user manuals for PH8.13 and Oracle.

We have created jobs to:
  - change hyphens to underscores in field and file names for both
dictionary and program source
  - create the script file for creating the Oracle tables
  - extract the data into portable subfiles

I have some questions which I would like answered:

1. Has anyone already done this migration? If so, are there any known
pitfalls for us to avoid? Also, are there any ways to set up PowerHouse
on Unix to make the migration easier?

2. I have set up a test Oracle database with a few tables and have
created a simple PH dictionary to try and access it via the Oracle
dictionary. When I run Qshow, it shows the database, but says Records
and sizes none, even when I run Qshow with subdict=search. How can I get
PowerHouse to use the oracle dictionary?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
