A nice quiet Monday

Thanks for that reassurance, Chris. I've asked for 7.10.G1 but they can't
send it to me just yet. Apparently you've got a "pre-QC" version. Sounds
better than some of the post-QC versions to me!

Subject: A nice quiet Monday

I upgraded our production system to 7.10.G1 (among other things) over the
weekend.

It's now the end of Monday, and the users have spent eight hours or so
giving
the system a good hammering, and there's nary a problem (well, not with
Powerhouse anyway).

Caveats:
	(1) not yet tried 710G1 DALOCK.[A]OBJ
	(2) 'report <date> pic "^^^^^^^^"' doesn't work any more, but
probably never was valid code, so I'm not complaining: new
syntax 'format yyyymmdd nullseparator' works fine.

The release appears robust & trouble-free (apart from the dict convert
protection problem I reported on Friday), and the Y2K stuff does all the
right
things, so we're very happy with it. Y2K project about complete.

Thank you, Cognos.

Regards, Chris
