HP-UX PH 7.33.D3 Behavior?

Michael, 
 
That was my first thought to try <ESC> k. 
It does want to do something I feel because  
if I press <ESC> k the k does not appear  
after pressing the escape key however press 
it again you have a k.  The results however  
do not produce a recall of the previous PH statements. 
 
Any idea Micheal why it works for you and not me? 
 
Anyone?
