I am newish to Unix as well, but have found the <ESC> K works within Powerhouse
as well. To get help for a command such as 'ls' type in 'man ls'. The 'man'
(short for manual) command is quite extensive. As for preferring Unix, VMS,
HP/MPE, AS/400.. I prefer whatever the customer prefers. ;-)

Being used to PowerHouse in an OpenVMS environment I've seen some behavior
differences in the HP-UX environment inside each component at the prompt.

First...I've noticed that sometimes when I type the text appears before the
prompt character.

Example:

Q D E S I G N   (7.33.D3)
Copyright 1997 COGNOS INCORPORATED

s> creen t
> exi

Secondly...I've noticed is my inability to recall the last command.  When I
hit <CURSOR UP> that is exactly what it does.  The cursor starts moving up
the
screen.  Is there another way to recall the last command?  Sometimes when
your
analysis data in QUIZ it comes in handy.  I now find myself having to grab
the
prior text in my terminal emulator and paste it on to the current line.
Sometimes you want to change your criteria around and it was nice in the
OpenVMS environment just to hit <CURSOR UP>, delete a couple of characters
and
type something else in and you have your new criteria.  Hit GO and there is
the other data you want.

Lastly...the help seems to be unavailable.

Unable to create the help subprocess, COGHELP. On-line help is not
available.

Why is the help unavailable?  Does anyone know?
