Interbase 5 and Year 2000.

Are there any other Powerhouse customers waiting for Interbase 5 on
HP-UX to resolve year 2000 issues. Cognos is unable to give us a release
date for Interbase 5 although it is available from Borland.

Borland says IB5 will be the only supported version by the year 2000 on
the HP-UX platform. Apparently IB4 is year 2000 compliant but it will
not be supported on HP-UX by the year 2000.

We are thinking of going it alone with IB5 direct from Borland, but this
leaves us without support if we find problems between IB5 and
Powerhouse.

Our situation is further compounded by a limit on the IB4 gbak size of 2
giga bytes. We are fast approaching this limit. IB5 resolves this
problem with its new gsplit utility.
