It depends how your environment is set up:
- For folks that only have 1 or 2 applications that use Powerhouse, it is easier to restore the Powerhouse files into their respective groups (in this case PH729C8.COGNOS), point the test account UDC to this new version (remove any old account UDC reference to COGNOS, then SETCATALOG PH729UDC.PH729C8.COGNOS;ACCOUNT;APPEND, recompile and test the applications, and then COPY the Powerhouse files from PH729C8.COGNOS into the CURRENT.COGNOS group. This way if all of your accounts point to a single version of Powerhouse, you probably have a system UDC pointing to PHNMUDC.CURRENT.COGNOS (SETCATALOG PHNMUDC.CURRENT.COGNOS;SYSTEM;APPEND). What this method does is allow you to not have to worry about setting individual account udcs, you just set the system UDC once and forget about it.
- Usually you have many applications and they may actually be running different versions of Powerhouse (sometimes is takes a while to migrate the applications up to more recent releases). If this is the case, you can point each account to the appropriate UDC's by setting the UDC to the specific version (i.e. one appication account has an account udc of PH729UDC.PH709B2.COGNOS while another has PH729UDC.PH279C.COGNOS). In this case, you would point your test account to PH729UDC.PH729C8.COGNOS, test it and when ready, point the appropriate production accounts to this new UDC (SETCATALOG oldudc.oldgroup.COGNOS;ACCOUNT;DELETE to clear the old one, then SETCATALOG PH729UDC.PH729C8.COGNOS;ACCOUNT;APPEND to set the new one)
Thoroughly confused? write back directly and I'll try and clarify it a bit.
