G'day folks
At a university I once worked at, we preferred to use our own encryption
algorithm rather than the ENCRYPT function. We did this for two reasons,
because the PowerHouse modules were originally converted COBOL modules and
because we were sending the encrypted data to clients and other systems that
did not use PowerHouse.
I.e. If there is a possibility of needing to decrypt the data in a
non-PowerHouse system, now or in the future, I would recommend using your
own
algorithm for the encryption so that it can be replicated in another
language.
