I am currently doing a YTK project for a client running Powerhouse 504C
on the Vax. Yes you read that right: Powerhouse 504C on the Vax. From
the version number you can see that they gave up on Powerhouse about 6-8
years ago. Oddly enough they still have 3 systems in place that they
require YTK conversion (they left for the sweet-young-thing down the
block but still come home for dinner!). Anyway enough of my bigamy, I
mean bigotry.
I've been reading how how previous versions of Powerhouse such as 710E
is not Year 2000 compliant never mind 504C. My question is what does
this mean? In testing I changed the dictionary to be century included
with a default century of '20' and was able to enter dates without any
problems-including 2000/02/29. What actual problems should I be on the
lookout for or does changing the size of date fields from 6 to 8 (as has
been suggested here) resolve most potential problems?
