Chris,
Going from 7.10.En to 7.10.F2 (better 7.10.F4 as it is a later RBF) should
be fairly painless - you will have to re-compile but you shouldn't have to
change anything and you will be on a fully supported release (for now!).
7.10.G is a much bigger upgrade with lots of new features (I can Email you
the Acrobat document if you like) and a new dictionary format - although you
still shouldn't have to change any code (in practice we have found that a
few things do need changing due to tighter syntax checking). Depending on
your application you may also find that half the work you have done in your
Y2K project could have been avoided (ouch).
Have fun!

Subject: RE: Y2K Versions
I am concerned about the extent to which a version upgrade will invalidate
the Y2K modifications and testing we have been engaged in for the past year.
To tell the truth, it is very disturbing to find out at this stage that the
version we started with (7.10E) is not Y2K compliant. It is really far too
late to start again with new Powerhouse versions, and I am at a loss to
understand why Cognos has left this to the last minute.
What sort of upgrades are 7.10F2 and 7.10G?
Will we need to recompile?
Are there any other changes in these version which may destabilize our test
plan?
