item name size in PSD files.

G'day all 
 
We have been using portable subfiles to transfer data definitions from one 
environment to another and found that element names are truncated to 20 
characters in the resulting PSD files.  As we have many items up to 25 
characters in length this is causing a problem.  We only discovered this by 
accident when two element entries resulted in the same name causing the QTP 
load program to abort with an invalid dictionary error.  
 
Does anyone know how to override this name length restriction?  Our 
alternative is to manually edit every PSD.  We have about 700 of these!
