PH 8.09.C1-on MPEix-when available

There's some confusion here. PowerHouse 8.19 is the version that will
have the Year 2000 enhancements. 8.09 does NOT. And yes, the 8.19 beta
is coming up shortly.
For year 2000 compliance, which means that PowerHouse runs correctly
after Dec 31, 1999, you need at least 7.29.C8. If you need the year 2000
enhancements, then you want 8.19. The 8.09.C1 release is designed for
MPE/iX customers who want to use Axiant as a thin-client connection to a
PowerHouse server. It's the 8.19 release that will be shipped
automatically to all customers.
HP has said that MPE/iX 5.5 express 4 is their year 2000 ready release
so you should plan to be there. PowerHouse 8.19 will of course run on
MPE/iX 5.5.
And by the way, don't wait for 8.19 to start year 2000 work on your
applications. While you may want to wait for the enhancements to make
the actual changes, there's lots of analysis and planning you can do in
the meantime.
