Richard,
We have been running PowerHouse on AS400 for the past 2 years, with a
locally developed commercial application tailored for our needs. I have
posted a few time to learn about other AS400 users, but nobody answered - I
think I am the only one....
Execution is slow on our model 300 with 20 concurrent users, even though
huge improvement have been seen since earlier 5.87 version. Expecially batch
mode execution of QTP or QUICK can really be drag tha whole system down.

The version we are using is 6.07D5, but i am aware of a 6.07E that can run
on the new AS400 RISC model as well.

The future...my personal impression is that COGNOS does not intend to
support AS400 evolution, but only work in 'compatibility mode'. They will
only try to keep the old application going, and that's it - so very little
room for growth. Lately IBM has implemented triggers on the AS400, but - as
far as I know - it's not even possible to use them with PowerHouse. It seems
to me, ODBC compliant development tool offer a better choice.
If I had to choose PowerHouse on AS400 TODAY, the answer would be a definite NO.

Hope this helps.
