Are any Interbase gurus still lurking on this list?
We have a customer who is experiencing severe performance problems running PowerHouse over Interbase on a DG Aviion. We don't think PowerHouse is the cause, and DG doesn't think its the Aviion, so that leaves Interbase...

DG have observed that a "huge" number of semaphores are being generated. Could this be causing the performance problem? And if so, are there any tuning tricks that can be used to reduce the number of semaphores ??

Or is the answer more likely to lie in tuning the Unix environment ??? 
They are running Interbase 3.3B(2)
