DEFAULT WITH DEFINE

Is there a way to default a DEFINE statement without setting up another
DEFINE statement?

Example:

DEFINE TEMP01 DATE =  &
  PARM PROMPT "DATE:  " DEFAULT SYSDATE

I know the DEFAULT SYSDATE is not valid but that is what I want the
system to do.
