Hey list world!
Thanks to all who answered my "odd" question, both to me personally and to the
list.
Special thanks to Ken Wong, Kevin Gordon, and Allison Hamilton who all filled
me in on the CMS reference numbers (that was the weird *4D stuff).
Also to Arthur Kogan, Dirk Rohde, and Bob Deskin who together helped explain
the odd Date function. For everyone's edification:
ITEM T_INV_DATE = DATE(0,T_DATE)
This version of the Date function IS legal, but ONLY on OpenVMS. The first
parameter specifies the number of days (just like everyone else's DATE
function), but the second value represents the Base Date from which the days
are offset. If you were using the PowerHouse defaults, it would look like
DATE (num-of-days, 18991231) or 19000101 LOL I don't know which.
Of course, that means the programmer was calculating the date that is zero
days from T_DATE... So I'm still at a bit of a loss to explain the logic of
the code. But I understand the syntax at least. 8-)
Thanks again all!
Matt 8-)
