Odd PH VAX Code

Hey all 8-)

I know I'm supposed to be one of the experts on PowerHouse code around here,
but I'm looking at some code from an existing system and I'm baffled. Here is
the code:

*4D
 ITEM T_INVC_DATE	= DATE(0,T_DATE) &
*4E
*4I
 ITEM T_INV_DATE = DATE(0,T_DATE) &
*4E
 	IF RCRD_ID OF DINVC_UDF_REC = "10"

Two things that puzzle me. What the heck are the *4D and *4E lines? And
where did that DATE function come from? I don't recall seeing a "(0," in
there before. The client is operating on a VAX.

Has it been that long since I've worked regularly with PowerHouse? LOL
(Uhhh don't answer that last question. It was rhetorical ;-))
