PDL version different from Qdesign version?

I was wondering what the implications would be if someone were to compile
PowerHouse source code in say QDESIGN which was 7.10.F4 (example) against a
dictionary which was say 6.10.E.  Has anyone ever done any cross version
compiling such as this and received an error?  Would if anything could
happen internally?  I would think that unpredictable results may occur.
