6.10.E QKGO -> 7.x,8.x QKGO?

I was wondering what version past 7.10.F4 allows copying of QKGO values from
a previous version of PowerHouse.  Is there a cut off version of PH where
6.10 QKGO files can no longer be copied to a higher version.  I downloaded
the PHQKGOF4.BAK patch from ftp://www.cognos.com but I am getting the same
error message when I try to copy from 6.10E.  Has anyone successfully copied
6.10E QKGO files into a 7.x or 8.x version?  It's not a big deal at this
site to manually enter the QKGO detail into QKGOMAINT but this seems to be
an issue worth pursuing.  Congos's document ID KB60601CS document says that
the workaround does not work with previous versions prior to 7.10.F3.   Am I
correct in assuming that all later versions are incapable of copying (copy
function of QKGOMAINT) 6.10.E QKGO files?  Any additional info on this topic
would be great.
