<b>Subject:</b> [Bulk] Running PH and Database on different servers<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Hi all, <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>For infra structure reasons we have been ask to separate our
PH application and ORACLE Database into two different Linux Redhat servers. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>But there is still a r<span class=shorttext><span
style='color:black;background:white'>equirement that each User most connect to
the ORACLE Database via PowerHouse with their own user/password. <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Currently we are running on one AIX server, so we uses
the OPS$ option from ORACLE, where the user automatically are granted access, <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>as long as they are locally login to the AIX server. <span
class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:white'><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'>So our issue is, how do we connect via the PH Dictionary to the from PH
application server to another database server, when each user most
have their own user/password in the database. <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'>We don’t want the user to type in user/password each time they
should attach to the database. The users also starts a lot of background job,
running in the own Shells, so where it will not be possible for them to type
database user/password. <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'>One top of everything, we have also been ask to implement AD (Active
Directory), but that is another issue, which brings up a lot of other
challenges. Right now our focus is on splitting the application and
Database, and still have the users there own database user. <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'>Any suggestion will be appreciated . <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
white'>Many regards <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span class=shorttext><span style='color:black;background:
