<DIV><FONT face="Courier New, courier, monaco, monospace, sans-serif">I am at a client that is using version<FONT size=2><FONT size=2> 8.40.D1 of PowerHouse on a VMS box. They use a directory containing a coy of all of the file in their PowerHouse dictionary. When they get a new client, they simply copy all of these file over the the new directory for the new client and they are off and running. The problem came when they got a new client/customer, and found that nearly all of these empty files were missing. That is over 400 files. </FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New, courier, monaco, monospace, sans-serif"><FONT size=2><FONT size=2></FONT></FONT></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New, courier, monaco, monospace, sans-serif"><FONT size=2><FONT size=2>I was asked how to recreate these empty files. Their first thought was to go into the <SPAN class=yshortcuts id=lw_1238587131_0 style="CURSOR: hand; BORDER-BOTTOM: #0066cc 1px dashed">Dictionary</SPAN> and do a create on each file. That would be pretty time consuming and open to the risk of missing however many along the way.</FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>My suggestion was to use PHDFM driven by a text file containing the names of all of these files all done through DCL. I have done this sort of thing before and it runs fairly quickly.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Now for my problem, When I type in PHDFM I get the following error message:</FONT></DIV>
